At the end of the regimen, the results showed that the group of women which consumed cumin lost even 3 pounds more in comparison to the other group. This survey confirms the benefits of cumin in burning fats. The cumin group managed to lose 13 pounds in total, while the non cumin group lost 10 pounds. What was more impressively, was the fact that the cumin group members decreased body fat percentage by 15%—almost triple the 5% loss posted by the control group—apparently due to the addition of the fat-burning spice.

The group that consumed cumin succeeded to significantly lower the levels of triglycerides and cholesterol, while the other group decreased them by 5% only. Consequently, the cumin consumers burnt more calories and reduced the risk of obesity, diabetes, and heart attack. Researchers say that due to the phytosterols that inhibit the absorption of cholesterol in the body, cumin might also be able to boost the metabolism.
